Important Notices Scheduled Events Although we are beginning to schedule events for the summer and beyond, all scheduled events are subject to postponement or cancellation depending on the COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time of the scheduled event. Please check this website for event status before you come to the range for an event. One-Way Park Roads Inside the Gate Please observe the one-way restrictions on park roads. Members have sometimes the wrong way on the "in" road when leaving during non-public hours. Bicyclists and pedestrians expect one-way only traffic and there have been potentially unsafe encounters. Please always go out the one-way road up through the disc golf course. Public Announcements PLEASE NOTE: For all the events in this section, COVID-19 social distancing will be in place and non-vaccinated participants will be required to wear masks. Range Closure During Work Parties Santa Cruz Archers depends on member contributions to maintain the range. We schedule a monthly work party, weather permitting, scheduled on the first Saturday after the first Tuesday of every month (i.e., after the Club Membership meeting, which is the first Tuesday of every month). The work party is from 9:00 am to approximately 1:00 pm. The outdoor range will be closed during work parties. A sign will be posted in a prominent location announcing the range closure. Although work parties are outside of the times the gate is open for public access, it does affect members of the public who walk into the range. RANGE CLOSED SIGNS - If you encounter a "Range Closed" sign for half or all of the outdoor course, please observe and do not enter. Work parties have the right to do this to ensure everyone's safety. Work parties are usually in the mornings on Saturdays. Members should make themselves aware that the club holds work parties on Saturdays at least once a month between 9:00am - 12 noon, usually the first Saturday after a club meeting. If you show up during that time you might want to join the work party! Whether a Club member or a member of the public, please do not come to the range during scheduled work parties unless you are part of the work party, or are a member and wish to shoot at the indoor range. Member Announcements Indoor Range Use Use of the indoor range is limited while COVID restrictions remain in place. See the Social Distance and Safety Requirements section below for details. We recommend members sign up in advance to use the indoor range using the calendar created for this purpose. This will avoid being turned away at the range if the capacity has already been reached. Working Members: Work Party Date Change Date of the monthly work party for working members has been changed from the first Saturday of the month to first Saturday after the club meeting (which is on the first Tuesday of the month). Instructors Instructors using the range are not allowed to conduct group lessons outdoors, or group or individual lessons indoors. Membership Meetings Until further notice, the Santa Cruz Archers monthly membership meeting will be held as scheduled by remote call-in. Please do not come to the range. Members or prospective members who are interested in attending, please email scarchers@comcast.net by the Monday before the meeting. Attendance is limited to 40 conference participants. The Outdoor Archery Range Is Now Open Subject to Social Distancing The outdoor archery range is now open subject to the social distancing and safety requirements below. We have not been cleared to resume club events. All Santa Cruz Archers events are cancelled until further notice. Social Distancing and Safety Requirements Please do not use the range if you are experiencing the symptoms of COVID 19 or have been exposed in the last 14 days to someone known to be sick with COVID 19. Outdoor Range Outdoor Groups are recommended to be 4 persons or fewer.Maintain social distancing as much as possible.Please wear masks when shooting the outdoor range and there are more than one family/isolation groups shooting at the same time. If fully vaccinated, masks are recommended but not required. Indoor Range Open to club members and invited guests only. Please remember there is virtually no ventilation in the indoor range. Use with caution. Masks are required for all unvaccinated users. We recommend no more than 4 archers at any time with an absolute maximum of 12 occupants at any one time. The upcoming events section has moved to the right-hand sidebar below the calendar and is now visible form every page on the site. Santa Cruz Archers Mission The club was founded May 10, 1968. The purpose of the Santa Cruz Archery Club (aka Santa Cruz Archers) is to foster, expand and perpetuate the practice of field and target archery and the spirit of good fellowship among all archers. To that end, we sponsor various archery events throughout the year and host regular "Introduction to Archery" classes. Club Meetings Santa Cruz Archers Club Meetings are held in the indoor range starting at 7:30 PM the first Tuesday of every month, unless the first Tuesday is on a national holiday.
